"I'm a retired elementary teacher of 37 years, and I wish I had this adorable and impactful book to share with my young students when I was in the classroom! I love the simple yet powerful principle it teaches that we can use our words to harm or help our friends. The characters, Light and Water, then guide the friends through an effective and kind communication strategy that restores their friendships. What a delightful story and helpful guide to navigating difficult dynamics with friends!"

"As a retired first-grade teacher, I can say that this book would be a great tool to have in the classroom. Young children are learning how to socialize with those around them. “The Power of Words” first helps kids learn how to calm down during an argument, and then the kids learn to recognize that mean words are hurtful. Saying something nice to a hurt friend makes both kids feel better. Such important skills that everyone of all ages can learn. Love this book!"

What a wonderful book to teach kids how their words matter!  I love that this book teaches how to be kind to others as well as how to deal with others being unkind to you.  My kids (ages 8 and 10) were immediately drawn to the characters and wanted to read it multiple times!

The examples were very relatable, and the idea of building up others with words is such a great way to build positivity! The workbook is SO wonderful!  It was fun for the kids to answer the questions (I wrote them down for them), and they loved looking back through the book for the characters to help them with the answers.  This is a book my kids will read over and over again!  Thank you for creating a kid's book with such a great message to instill in our kids!

As both an educator and a parent of school-aged children, I realize the importance of explicitly teaching young learners the soft skills of life during their formative years.

I believe these skills are vital to successfully propelling children forward in our world.  This picture book, and the corresponding coloring book, are wonderful resources for imparting a social-emotional lesson in a way that is both engaging and developmentally appropriate.  I highly recommend this book!

What a cute book!! The Power of Words is a great teaching tool for littles. It is engaging and appeals to your child’s senses by using things in nature to cleverly depict the characters and their personalities in the story. There’s a great lesson that I think kids will pick up on about how your words can tear others down or build others up, and when you choose to be kind, it makes everyone happy. As a mom of two, I believe kids will like this book, and they’ll learn the lesson that their words do have power.

The accompanying coloring book is a really nice way to be able to take the power of words book to the next level with your kids. This book will help them to verbalize how their words and others make them feel. It will also serve as a way for you to learn more about how others impact their feelings and assess their values and who they trust. It’s a great tool that will help kids be able to talk about their feelings, which is crucial to their well-being.
